In response to the national dialogue for the “100 Million Trees, A Shared Responsibility” initiative, organized by the Arab Office for Youth and Environment in partnership with the Egyptian Sustainable Development Forum, and under the patronage and presence of Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, the “Education for Sustainable Development” initiative was launched. This initiative is being implemented by the Egyptian Sustainable Development Forum in full cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education as well as the Ministry of Environment.

The initiative is being executed in 12 public schools in Cairo Governorate as a first phase. Part of these campaigns is to plant around 250 trees, in addition to holding awareness sessions with students to educate them on the importance of afforestation, mechanisms for tree preservation, and their role in improving the environment and ensuring its sustainability
