The Arab Office for Youth and Environment Association was founded by a group of young individuals who were passionate about environmental issues at a time when the concept of the environment was largely unknown to most people in Egypt and the Arab world. These young pioneers began their journey through the Science Clubs of Al-Ahram newspaper, under the patronage of the late journalist Mr. Salah Galal, who enthusiastically supported their ideas and extended a helping hand to turn their modest dreams into reality as they tackled a new, unfamiliar, and complex issue: the environment.
The association’s first Board of Directors was formed in December 1978. Furthermore, in 1990, the association was officially registered with the Ministry of Social Affairs as a central association.
Our mission is to be among the leading non-governmental organizations in the environmental and developmental sectors at the local, Arab, and international levels. We aim to achieve this through a comprehensive, non-profit environmental framework with an economic dimension, delivering integrated services and activities in the field of environmental protection and conservation. Our efforts will positively impact the surrounding environment and fully empower the target groups we serve.
Together we can reach sustainable development and a better environment.
