The “Resilient Productive Communities Project” is a European Union-funded initiative implemented by the Coptic Association for Social Care (CASC), a sister organization of the Bishopric of Public, Ecumenical and Social Services (BLESS). CASC has extensive experience working across various rural and urban communities nationwide, striving to ensure a decent quality of life. The project is executed in collaboration with the Arab Office for Youth and Environment (AOYE), which has significant expertise in the field of environmental sustainability, particularly in youth, environment and climate change projects.

On a local level, the project collaborates with community-based organizations representing the targeted communities. In Beni Suef Governorate, the project partners with the Al-Ikhlas Coptic Development Association, while in Cairo Governorate, it works with the Misr E-Irada Association.

Overall Objective

To improve the environmental situation and enhance the utilization of available environmental resources in the targeted communities.

Project Overview

The project aims to provide a solid framework for improving environmental conditions and maximizing the use of available resources in three targeted communities in the governorates of Cairo and Beni Suef. The initiative seeks to create a replicable model that can be implemented in other communities.

The underlying philosophy of selecting two rural and one semi-urban communities lies in the urgent need to improve the quality of services by enhancing the community’s ability to address the impacts of climate change.

The project employs a participatory approach, engaging all relevant government entities and community leaders to achieve its planned outcomes. This approach promotes community involvement throughout the project’s implementation and during the monitoring and evaluation phases.
